Your alternate characters as heroes... ?
This is my first post. =) Hey.
Anyway, after looking at my character selection screen for a few minutes, I came up with the idea of having your other characters be heroes for the character you are currently using.
For example, let's assume you have 4 characters, all roleplaying: A, B, C, and D. You choose to begin playing character A, and you then may choose to have character B, C, and D be your "heroes." Later, you want to play character B, and so you play with A, C, and D.
Why would this be useful?
- You don't have to go through the story 10 million times. You do it once, and you can really enjoy the game; from the roleplaying perspective, this is more realistic.
- It makes sense. Why would a player want to play through the story again and again?
- Titles would be more logical. I mean, this would solve the problem of titles being character-based or account-based. It gives a more logical reason for everything to be account-based. You wouldn't have to gain things again.
- It's perfect for those people that like to delete characters because they find something small wrong with their character. When they create a new character, they skip all the cr*p in between, and instead, they may continue on with the story
- I just hate having those premade heroes with ugly names and armor. (no offense) It makes me angry they aren't FULLY customizable.
How may this be unbalanced and how can we fix it?
- Characters with higher levels than the current character used. For the purpose of playing, the "alternates/herochars" would be set at exactly the same level. However, the xp would still be recorded somewhere at the same rate, and would still gain xp according to their real level in relation to the monster
- Items may be little to moderately better. Well that's okay. I don't think this unbalances it that much because it would be as if you are playing with other real characters.
Anyway, what do you think?
EDIT: oops. sorry. my search button wont give me permission to search. O.o
